Sasha's GMTV Diary

5.15am Wakey wakey!

When your alarm goes off at 5.15am you would normally have that horrible sick feeling and not want to get out of bed. This is not the case for me on a GMTV day as I absolutely love it! It is the best job in the world. A normal GMTV day for me starts at about 5.15am when I have three alarms ringing in my ear to ensure that I wake up. I then jump into the bath (yes I do still bath at this ridiculous hour) wash and blow dry my hair etc and try and make myself look half decent.

6.10am Taxi time

We have drivers sent to pick us up so mine arrives at 6.10am and I arrive at the studios for 7am.

7.00am Getting ready . . .

We then go straight to the fashion room where we start trying on outfits and apply our make-up for the show. Once this is out of the way it’s just like a social gathering. All the girls and I have been working with Mark Heyes and his assistant Sarah for a long while now and we have all become good friends, so there is always lots of laughter and we love a good old gossip. After we have had our breakfast in the café, we come back up to the studios to get dressed into our outfits, touch up our make-up and do anything else that needs doing before the Lorraine Kelly (yes she is as lovely as she seems) show.

9.30am Home time

We are normally on air at the end of the show so we are finished by 9.30am which is great as then we have the whole day to do whatever we choose to do. The great thing about GMTV is that there is always a great buzz as everyone is so lovely. It’s a great environment to work in and you never know who you will meet - anyone from the Prime Minister to Mariah Carey!!!!
