Model Review and COMPETITION

Evie reviews the Clear Balance Facial at Azamay MediSpa - for problematic skin

Before

After

I’ve never been one to invest much time and money into topical skincare treatments, assuming that exercise and a healthy diet was enough to remedy it. However, having endured a lengthy spell of bad skin recently and not knowing what to blame it on apart from hormones, Leni’s recommended that I try out a facial at north London spa Azamay.

On arrival, I was taken into a room that seemed a microcosm of tranquillity, dimmed lighting and relaxation music playing. I lay down on the bed and melted into forty-five minutes of sensory bliss.

The Azamay beautician Jenna gave me the Clear Balance treatment, which, according to the company’s website, ‘helps to remove blackheads and impurities, accelerating the dissolution of the corneous plug and helping to open the pores’. She began by messaging cleanser into my skin before gently wiping it off with a warm flannel and then applying an exfoliator.

The selling point of the facial however, was the use of a cleanser containing nanoparticles, which was massaged into my skin using mesotherapy. This new technology uses a recent scientific discovery regarding radio waves, called electroporation. Azamay describes mesotherapy as a technique that ‘deliver(s) highly natural ingredients into the deep layer of the skin (the fatty layer) to achieve extraordinary results.’ Jenna massaged the cleanser into my skin with this noninvasive treatment for fifteen minutes, after which my dull skin effectively felt resurrected.

One of the nicest things about the facial was the variety of textures and temperatures I felt on my skin. It was a level of indulgence that my face had rarely felt before, and I did see immediate results: the pores and pimples on my forehead had reduced in size by about half. Moreover, after Jenna recommended I try a Ren cleanser which would be better suited to my skin type than the one I had been stuck in the habit of using for the past year, the spots on my forehead went down altogether after five days.

I believe that a course of facial treatments is needed to maintain improved skin, but I’m delighted to see that even a few suggestions from Azamay has managed to improve my skin so quickly. I’m now sold to the idea that high quality skin care is essential.
