Why did you become a photographer? 

I became a photographer because I spent all my money on it when I worked elsewhere. I loved it so much.

What/who is your inspiration? 

Paulo roversi, Anton Cobjin, Bruce Weber and Sarah Moon. The list is endless.

The best thing you have photographed? 

Can't really say, but I love it when an idea gets fleshed out, photographed and works out the way you had hoped. This is much Harder than it sounds and doesn't happen as often as liked.

Any exciting work coming up? 
Currently working on a book of personal photography, that's exciting to me, hope it works out.

Photographer of The Week - Alex Selby

Why did you become a photographer? 

I’ve always had an interest in beautiful images and was drawn to photography five years ago whilst studying Art and Design. Each shoot challenges me to grow technically and creatively. I feel a huge sense of achievement when my ideas develop into a finalised image.

What/who is your inspiration? 

There are lots of photographers that I admire. Particularly RANKIN and Mert Allas and Marcus Piggott but, aside from other working photographers, I find inspiration from listening to music, looking through fashion magazines, blogging, beautiful people - basically keeping my eyes and ears wide open to my surroundings.

The best thing you have photographed? 
As cliche as it may sound, I think the best work is yet to come. I’m still developing my photographic style, but I feel that each of my series' has a special element about it. Whether that be the story behind it, the team I worked with on the day, a great model or a beautiful set.

Any exciting work coming up? 
Currently in my final year of university, I'm working towards developing the concept of my final major project. I’m also looking forward to releasing features in magazines and travelling abroad to the States this year to work on upcoming projects.

Why did you become a photographer? 
I picked up my first camera when I was 15 and then went on to study photography at college and University. I was always attracted to creative subjects. I took the direction of portraiture and this quickly developed into a love for fashion photography.

What/who is your inspiration?
I am inspired by talented photographers such as, Richard Avedon, Steven Meisel and Craig McDean to name a few. I much prefer shooting on location thus getting inspired by my surroundings. Working with a strong team is also essential to me as I think it’s exciting to bounce ideas around with others on a shoot. I also love meeting new people.

The best thing you have photographed?
It has to be my latest shoot with Leni's very own Naima. Everything fell perfectly in to place and the photos came out brilliantly.

Any exciting work coming up?  

There is one shoot coming up that has me very excited... the title is ‘Floral Explosion’.
